Twelve of our brothers and sisters are being baptized this Sabbath. Come witness the joy, and pray for them as they begin this new life in Christ.
A day of new beginnings.
Every year, our congregation gathers to celebrate baptisms — the public confession of faith in Jesus and the beginning of new life in Him. It's one of the most joyful days on our calendar, and one of the most meaningful.
This September, twelve members of our church family — from teenagers to grandparents, some new to the faith, others returning to it — will step into the water together. Their names will be shared during the service; their stories, in their own words, are gathered in this booklet.
"Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."— Romans 6:4
The Divine Worship service will be a little longer than usual — plan for a service that runs until about 1:00 PM — followed by a fellowship lunch in the hall. Bring a dish if you can; there will be more than enough for everyone.
